For what its worth, if you run the MK3 2.0 spindles on your MK2, you can use the MK5 312mm vented rotors but you will need to have the rotors drilled for 4x100 if needed. This is what I have on my 90 GLI jetta but im running Porsche boxter brakes. My Son is running on his 91 GTI and on his 93 Corrado the MK3 VR6 spindles (the Corrado is equipped with these from factory) with the fabless MK2 to MK3 control arms or you can run the MK3 wide track control arms on the mk2, (the wide control armes space the track out, i think 13mm a side) with this he was able to run the MK4 337/Audi TT 312mm rotors, you will also have to drill the rotors and hubs for 4x100 if needed. You Use the 337/20th, or Audi TT calipers and caliper brackets. In the rear of the MK2, the MK3 rear spindles and rotors are a direct bolt up to a MK2 beam. I am currently running a custom setup on the rear of my GLI, a MK4 stub and hub with a 337/TT vented rotor and caliper. This all fits under a 16" rim. We are running 17" wheels on our cars. I can take some pictues and try and post them.
( some of these applications might take spacers behind the caliper brackets for proper fitment). _________________ "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: 'tis dearness only that gives everything its value. I loaded some pictures to the gallory of the brake swaps we were able to do with stock VW parts, we found rockauto has the best prices on rotors and pads
Sorry, my sons Corrado doesn't show the brake upgrade, but it has the same brakes as the GTI. my jetta we went with the MK5 rotters ( the rotor hat sets back alittle further than the mk4) i am also running a boxter calliper in the front of the red gli. In the rear i made two types of hub mods. One was machine down the old rotors drill them for both 4 and 5 lug and the other was to make a mk4 style hub and stub fit, so we can run whatever rotors we want in the back. _________________ "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: 'tis dearness only that gives everything its value.
