Anyone know how/when this part operates? Does it bounce with engine idle or what.
In my case, it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

on my 74 it bounces up and down during idle. not huge swings, more like a bobble head doll... _________________ 74 Bahia red Ghia coupe. Built Jan 24th 1974, left on Jan 31st 1974. Initial destination Columbus/USA. |

At some point mine did the same... even though it can move freely, it doesn't do anything. I wonder what that means? _________________ '74 Zambezi green Ghia vert, autostick, 101k

Do you have all the correct hoses hooked up to the correct places? Maybe there's an air leak? I imagine that the motor fan draws the air through it as needed and the weight helps keep it closed. Could yours have gotten bent or broken somehow? _________________ 74 Bahia red Ghia coupe. Built Jan 24th 1974, left on Jan 31st 1974. Initial destination Columbus/USA. |

I do have the hoses hooked up correctly. But I'll check for any leaks _________________ '74 Zambezi green Ghia vert, autostick, 101k

Abigdumkid or anyone:
is the weighted control flap attached to something?
When I look through the snorkel end, I see the weighted control flap arm move but doesn't look like it's attached to or move anything.

It's suppose to draw warm air from hose 'B' at idle then open when you step on the gas to go so you get cool and not the warm air (a crude smog fix). |
