I found this 1995 Disney movie on YouTube, unfortunately low quality resolution; and saw that Ghia. Looks like a '70/'71-

No postings in nearly a month? I saw a few in meantime on TV but could not get to the camera in time, nor was there a full episode on YouTube. Green late Ghia Cabrio, The A-Team "The Bells of St. Mary's" (season 3 episode 11, 1984).

But here are a few from movies:
Red Cabrio parked in New York City, "A Fine Madness" (1966).

Red '70/'71 Cabrio parked, "E.T.- the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982) during the bicycling group chase/escape scene. I think the boy is Tyler, played by Thomas Howell.

^ Unusual color combination, Trylon.

10 years later it showed up in Las Vegas Wink ; though if you look closely it could be a Cabrio here:

A lowlight Karmann Ghia Cabriolet Very Happy in movie "Do not send your wife to Italy" (1960). German title- "Schick deine Frau nicht nach Italien". The L428 Graphite Silver Ghia has a supporting role, taking the 3 women stars to Italy. We see how they pack their luggage within, and on the engine lid in Germany (Munich front license plate).

In Italy the engine quits, and the gals push the car into a driveway in a village where a large bicycle race is about to pass through. Many spectators come over to the Ghia see what's going on.

Good shot of the brick red door panel-

One spectator is a mechanic and asks to see the engine.

The mechanic then starts to remove various parts, remarkably without any tools! Wink

Finally, 2 of the 3 women sleeping in the open car. You can see the legs of one sticking out beyond the plaid skirt, lying down in the back seat.

This movie has been posted at least twice before, per using the Search function on the title.

Even though the boy runs from the gold Chevy to the gold Ford seconds later, the black '66 Beetle next to the Ghia is gone, replaced by a red early Corvair. Confused

Good advise. Same goes for the Vintage Photos thread having repeats of Catwoman and that squatting girl in the blooming dress sticking her finger in the snow. Laughing
The treads are so long it takes effort to check.

^ Nicholas, the Vintage Photos search is unfortunately less effective, since many times the photo source is not listed as a caption so that a search based on text is not easily possible. For Ghia movies, the movie is usually listed. My opinion is that if a movie has already been listed in this thread, yet the user has a slightly different photo than initially posted, that's fine.

YouTube video "A town in Germany: Life in Stuttgart in 1964". Two Karmann Ghias in downtown traffic.

To make up for those two "distant" sightings, here's a close-up from the same video. Notice the traffic police officer on his cone-shaped pedestal, and the Cadillac farther back.

And there's a Beetle in there, too.

Great presentation IMO.
I’m at a loss as to errors. I’d be interested in knowing what they are.
