Anyone know where to find one? Tried the usual BD, German, Cip, WW, etc. but didn't find one. They got them for splits, no bays. Thanks for the help. _________________ '79 westy

that's because there isn't one. i just looked at the parts book and there is no rubber bushing at the top of a bay steering column, any year. there is a plastic bushing at the bottom of the early column, where is fits into the base plate. _________________ SL |

Here is what I am talking about
This is from Bentley
Here is a close up
you can see I had to use some persuading to get it out of the ignition housing
and how it is orientated on the upper/ outer steering column
I hope this clears things up. Thanks again to both of you for your help. _________________ '79 westy

the part number you are looking for is 211 415 637C, which should be for 72-74. might be pretty difficult to find. _________________ SL |

I thought you might say that. I knew I should have ran inside to check if I could find a replacement before I dug it out so harshly . Damn thing didn't want to come out with lube and all. Oh well, there are a few bays at my local pick n pull might check there. Or put an ad in the classifieds. Thanks alot for your help Scott. _________________ '79 westy

I unfortunately find myself in the position of needing a new bushing for my 71 Bay, similar to the OP. So far no luck in finding one. If anyone has suggestions I’m all ears. Thanks |

Be creative. Make one. I believe it’s purpose is to electrically insulate the horn _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

+1 for busted bus. Super responsive via text and able to find the metal equivalent for my 79 bus when nobody else carried it that I could find. Best of luck. _________________ 1979 FI CA bus
