Anyone run across recent teals on memory foam lately? Even a king might do if it's cheap enough - would just cut it down. Nothing special, I just got a 1.5" full size memory foam from Walmart for $28. They had a 2" for $48 but the 1.5" folds up and fits in the back of the upper bunk. _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |

PDX - looks like you are a Westy with the smaller bed, eh? I'll see what the Wallyworld price is for a queen then. Does the 1.5 seem to get the job done? _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

The thicker the better for sure. 1.5" is better than nothing, but if storage wasn't an issue, I'd definitely go for 2" or 3". The 1.5" rolls up easily to the size of a sleeping bag. I use a duffle to carry one and one stores flat in the upper bunk. _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |

Very interesting idea. I have a great thick self inflating mattress, but it’s a pain to squeeze all the air out to get it in the stuff sack. _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

We've recently added a 2nd topper.
Replacing the Westy foam with softer foam would offer a return of storage space and reduce effort too.
Just have to decide on what foam to order.
That's the hard part. _________________

Not for me, I'm just waiting for Dave (dobryan) to build his New England van so I can it try out in person. I anticipating he'll decide he needs one before the 2023 Fall Foliage Season.
Hell, I'll throw in an LL Bean flannel and apple cider donuts from Vermont or Western Mass to entice him. _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

How firm do you like your bed? My wife and I are about medium to slightly firm so that topper works for us. It could be a tad softer for it to be perfect for me. YMMV. _________________ Dave O

I bought the GoWesty 2" topper. It is a great product - but it is annoying to store. _________________ Brandon

I've bought a few times from these guys https://www.foambymail.com/ I like to that they have specs for all the foam they sell so you can choose the quality and density you want. |
