Is there a difference in the drag link for a right hand drive vs left hand drive? _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

Not all parts are made the same. NOS OE/OEM parts made mainly in West Germany, Early Germany, and Early Brazil are where VW produced the best quality parts and best fitting products.

They use the same drag/center link. Part #x411 417 353 C.
The really nice thing about this suspension is that its technically "symmetrical".
The idler arm bracket on the right hand side of a left hand drive car has the same bolt pattern as the steering box assembly.
So, to switch to right hand drive, you take the idler arm bracket and flip it to the left hand side of the car. The idler arm itself swaps right over.
The only different parts needed to move from left hand to right hand drive are the right hand drive steering box and drop/pitman arm.
There are left and right drop arm part #'s....however....I cannot find a right hand drive steering box part # in the parts book. So....I am looking at the steering box itself to see if it can be flipped over.

The drag link part number as you say is 411 417 353 C
I have found a drag link that is said to fit the 411/412 but the part number is 411 417 465.... is this an equivalent part number that will fit the type 4? |

The part # 411 417 465 is for the dust seal that goes on both ends of the 411/412 center link. Ray |
