millionmph,
Take a good look down the oil filler hole, from the top of your case.
Mine has a huge casting flash in it that needs to be ground out.
It looks like the foundry used a chisel to knock a big chunk of the flash out.
But they didn't get it all. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Mine was all shiny, when it was delivered.
After a week or two exposed to the atmosphere in the garage.
It has lost it's luster.
Seems the air affects the aluminum. Compared to the mag alloy cases. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I have about 4k miles on mine now. It's a 2498 and runs great. We used a fk7 and mini wedgeports and topped it off with 48 Dells. It really pushes my Beck Speedster.

Have be carful on the lower priced aluminum cases because i fell for that one time and when got case the numbers on top matched until i looked closer and whoever swedged the correct number over the number that didnt match ,they where two different case halves and the main bearing saddles was way off from being even, but the ppl did straighten it up sent out another case but if i didnt see that, the crank may have not turned from main saddles not matching or the end play may not been able set it etc, etc. |

Seeing new cases makes me want one !!! What would one do if they get one? Is there any prep work or do people just start buliding ? I guess you would wash and clean it? |

Deburr it a little, look for casting flash and if it were me I might even polish the exposed areas. _________________ Volkswagen!

Mine is a CB White Rhino...maybe they ask Autolinea to make them look different than the standard cases to set them off from the others. _________________ '58 Ghia 2387cc with a Berg / Folts 5 Speed

Why double disk? Can you enlighten me on the function and hp behind the need for that? Sounds badass!!! _________________ 1963 ragtop

My mistake, I thought the opening pic was a TF-1 case so I wanted to show off my build. _________________ 74 Super drag car
