Are you taking into account that the sprayed the inside bright red!? Joking, I totally agree.
Zooming in at the light dimmer switch, looks like it is already bubbling, or they didn't have time to prep for paint. |

"Custom Westfalie" = No Westfalia in my books. Shame to spend all that time and effort and miss basic things like year correct bumpers, proper louvered windows etc. Won't get started on aesthetic choices like paint and deluxe moulding
Odd thing is is that it has cot hooks on A pillar suguessting that it could have been an SO42 "A" kit at one point? |

Not so much a whine about price. But be sure to see in person, very very little original paint left. All of the white is a respray, dash is respray, lots of the turkis is a respray and headliner is not original. It looks a lot better in pics than person. And seller is fickle to say the least. After several weeks of back forth after viewing the bus in person I made a deal he agreed to regardless bc it is a very clean and straight bus. Then was told the following morning he decided to go in a different direction haha. If someone else has slid in with a higher offer sight unseen I’d suggest asking a few more questions. The seller plays a little on the dumb side but knows more details than he’s willing to throw out there.

Thanks for the shout out!
I don't actually have an ad up for upholstered interiors, FWIW. Though Morrie knows I make them.

Though it's akin to dragging Canadian thistle across my eyes and then rinsing them in Taco seasoning powder and scrubbing with brillo pads. Where was I?... _________________

I've bought parts from various parts of the world...Japan, Spain, Italy, Brazil, UK, Mexico, South Africa, Egypt, France, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Cyprus, Crete and of course China. You have to about the method of shipping AND get a tracking number. Shipment by air is the fastest...the proverbial slow boat from China is the slowest.
In addition...the item could be sitting in a US Customs warehouse somewhere. I had an item from the UK sitting in the US Customs warehouse in...(wait for it)...Louisville Kentucky of all places! The location according to the tracking number "got stuck: in Kentucky for a week. "What the hell is it doing waiting around in Kentucky?, I asked myself. I had to call the US Customs office in Kentucky, give them the tracking number, trace the item to the correct building, call the correct building and ask (very nicely) "Where are my drugs?" (No, just kidding)...I asked for them to do a "hands-on" verification. It took multiple call over a 10 day period to get it released. It'd probably still be there if I hadn't inquired about it.
On the home front, the US Postal Service (bless their hearts) sometimes sends packages "on vacation." The package might get close to your home. Mine was at the distribution center within 10 miles of my home (Southern California), but then it is rerouted to do some sight-seeing up state before returning to the SAME distribution center (within 10 miles of my home) and then to me. USPS can also send packages to an entirely different state. A package from Colorado that obviously had never been the the Grand Canyon, went from within 10 mile of my house in Southern California to Arizona before returning to the aforementioned distribution center and then to me. |

What's with the "California" license plates on this Bus?
The numbers are not a normal black plate sequence
Custom plates?
|
It's a historic Dutch registration format. (Two letters, starting with 'A', followed by two pairs of numbers. All in white on a black background.) Keift en Klok are based in the Netherlands.
I'd guess they're playing a little loose with the rules by using yellow on black and sticking the California logo on the plate though.
I've used this site a few times to try and work out where buses in the historic pictures thread came from... https://licenseplatemania.com/landenpaginas/nederland.htm#Pre-1978%20series _________________ Andy

Ditto USPS….. if you buy anything from the Samba classifieds , insist that they ship it via FedEx or UPS, preferably air. I bought a original bus jack with original bag and a tool kit in original roll from the classifieds here, around $500 of artifacts. That was in April , USPS never even got it out of California according to the tracking log. A few weeks ago, USPS finally gave up, shoulder shrugged, and said its lost and they can’t find it. In addition to avoiding USPS, also insist any Samba classifieds vendor insures the package for what it’s really worth.
My personal opinion of where they ended up, or something similar. Gotta love all this recent police reform.

A few porsche logos and it would do 100k.
It appears to be a really clean truck. Hopefully they get it. |
