Like it says, I have a single stack hold down that is stripped and am looking for suggestions for a fix. Has anyone dropped in studs? I haven’t messed with it at all, but can tell the carb is sucking air resulting in some small issues.

Not sure if it can be drilled and tapped? I don’t want to do anything stupid and fully compromise the carb.

Was thinking studs and locktite them in?

Does some one out there offer a fix besides the Jaycee billet tops?

Am running CB billet stacks

Thanx for any help.

thats exactly why studs are used in soft metals. Italian IDA's have studs everywhere, where as new repop carbs all have bolts (screws).

I would just screw in an appropriate stud with some JB weld or other similar epoxy. Those stack hold-downs do not need much torque at all.

Maybe install a heli-coil,it would be a permenant fix and not hard to do epoxy etc can work but for me i couldnt ever get it to hold like a heli-coil will.

Looks to be a 6mm stud so a 6mm heli-coil kit,it will cost little more then epoxy etc but when a heli-coil is installed its permenant.

If ya do go the heli-coil way ya may need take top of carb off to drill and install it,the right size drill bit should come with the kit.

If i posted multple posts sorry when i submitted 2 other times it didnt post.

If you can’t find the studs, buy bolts and cut the head off.
