Slow day here in the performance forum.
Been searching for an EFI FP and Boost adjusting reg. My head hurts from searching.
I have seen FP's and Regs from under $100 up to $500 and change range.
I'm not looking to break the bank, but need something that will meet my needs.
With a 2276 boosted engine, with Bosch injectors.
What would be an appropriate fuel pressure delivery range for for the injection system?
My rotating assembly is currently being shipped back home from DPR after quite a wait for Jose and team to get my crank properly repaired.
So, it's time to keep working on the shopping list.
82 x 94
JE Forged Pistons, JPM 94 Cylinders.
Engle FK-10 camshaft. Engle lifters. CB straight cut gears.
Scat 1.4 rockers.
Tim's Stage II heads, IIRC 42 x 37.
Ford 50mm TB.
FiveO Motor Sports Bosch injectors
Honda CBR650 COP
1 1/2" SS header, unknown manufacturer.
T3/T4 Turbo, blowing through a custom built intercooler. _________________ I have learned over the years.

This is a nice part, options allow you to configure for whatever fuel lines and such you want. Eliminates the need to adapt after the fact. I have one for a current turbo project. Haven't used it yet, but I like it.

I'm runnig a universal Carter efi pump with a CB regulator. The regulator has a vacuum port that supposedly will also accommodate boost, but I haven't used it for a boosted application yet. When I asked around (same questions as you) a few years ago, the CB part was recommended by several people that were boosted. The CB regulator is nice and the pump has been trouble free. _________________ modok wrote:

Thanks for the link Chip.
Did you order yours as seen in the link?
I'm thinking running -6 supply and return lines.
So, I guess it would be best to order with the correct fittings. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I have been running a Carter FP for my carbed engines. So I'm familiar with their installation.
I'll order one and call it good.

That should be a pretty wicked engine on boost. Any idea on compression ratio?
I think most people have the pressure set at around 43 psi. Just keep in mind that for every pound of boost, you will need another pound of fuel pressure, so be sure you get stuff appropriate for 43 psi plus however much boost your going to run. |

Yeah, it should be frightening once I get together and take it for the first drive.
I wont know the CR until I mock it up and measure it. I did order 5.7 rods, but that might have been an error. Like I said, I need to mock it up.
The idea for the engine is, build it like an N/A engine and boosting it!
Thank you for the pressure advice. I figured it would be in the range of 43psi. _________________ I have learned over the years.

The link is a designer of sorts, you need to select the specific options wanted. Here is another version where the choices have been removed and become a more standardized build. I may have bought this one.

Yeah 5.7 rods are pretty long. Even for the pin height of the JE. Did you get the long cylinders by chance? |

I do have a set of long cylinders. But, they would require cutting the case to fit um.
That would be another silly delay.
Tabari listed the JPM cylinders and I went with them to uncomplicate the build.
Once my goodies arrive from DPR. I'll mock it up and see what needs what, to get together. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I'll, likely have to run premium pump gas.

Check the different universal models, there are a few different Carter pumps for EFI. The price is right and they've proven themselves to be reliable. And Mario only sells stuff that works, and looks good. Wish there were more guys like him

Received a long awaited package from DPR, today.
The crank was a little bent, and needed to be straightened.
That and the fact that the dowel pins didn't come out cleanly, held up the completion of the crank repair and balance work.
I also asked Jose to resurface the flywheel. I think it came out great.
Balanced as well.
DPR, also indexed the pressure plate to the flywheel. See the three punched dots on the flywheel and the PP.
So the mockup begins.
The first thing I need to go after is the DH.
I ordered 5.7 rods and I suspect that these may be a bit long for this build.
I'll see after the mockup. The case is a "0" deck. _________________ I have learned over the years.

After Jose did his work on it.

You'll be glad you got that DPR flywheel. I bought a new chromoly flywheel initially and i couldn't get a clutch to hold. Bought a DPR and it seems to be holding just fine now.
