I don’t see any reference to brakes in the challenge…

I thought I might be able to participate. I can maybe get a picture of “Air National Guard”
The 142nd Fighter Wing, also known as the Redhawks, serves as part of Air Combat Command and the North American Air Defense System. The unit provides around-the-clock aerospace control alert for the Pacific Northwest airspace and coastal waters from northern California to the Canadian border using F-15 aircraft.
I don’t think that qualifies as an Armory

I’ve got one 14 miles away although it isn’t old. I don’t know, it might be old but it is still active. Can’t do it till the weekend however.

Dang it Vwmerkx!
Now I have to change my plans.
I do have a burial mound that I’m aware of.
Farther away but a much prettier drive.
On a side note, I’d absolutely love to have a good, working SchwimWagen.
I’d take out on the lake fur shur.

Here is Clemmie at the Chumash Indian Museum in Thousand Oaks, CA, established in the 1980s as the area succumbed to rapid suburbanization. It is an oasis in the middle of the margin between housing tracts and open space.
I can't drive closer to the actual museum, but I took some walking closer.
This is a really nice small museum, dependent on volunteers and donations.
There are hiking trails through a native oak woodland fortunately spared, though damaged, by the great Woolsey fire in 2018.
The Chumash have a long history in the southern California area, likely about 11,000 years. It is great that despite the progression (regression?) from native coexistence with the environment, to the Spanish Mission era, to cattle ranching days, and finally to suburbanization, that some space was dedicated to preserving a successful way of life long gone here.

Next challenge:
This might take a little while, but since Halloween is coming, how about we have some fun and let folks post for a week (deadline next Saturday midnight PDT). The challenge is YOUR VW NEXT TO THE BEST HALLOWEEN DECORATING AT A HOME. This would exclude businesses, arcades, amusement parks, etc.
Define "BEST" as you see fit... outlandish, creative, personal....
To keep some order to this, I will reserve the right to judge what is "best" at that time, though all opinions are welcome!

For your consideration KTPhil. It’s early in your challenge so let’s see what other folks bring.
Took these photos today at my buddy’s house. His daughters had fun decorating my bus with green trinkets.

Man, I need to get my brake install completed this week. Just need the spindles.
One of my coworkers wives have had him making all kinds of crafty Halloween goodies for the outside of their house.
I've seen some pics of his work. The simulated fire, made from expanding foam . Is pretty neat. _________________ I have learned over the years.
