When I bought my wagon it arrived minus the jack.
Can someone tell what it looks like or what other vw jack would work.
Or where I might see a photo, so I would know what to Try to find.
On a side note, its ready to drive,
except.
Seats have been at upholstery shop for 2 1/2 months. |

Its a Bilstein cranked jack . It was also used i some of the beetles and its from there you most likely will find one.

Original Bilstein jack from my ‘73 Wagon. I am sure the ‘74 models had the same.

I’ve had these lying about for years. I thought the one on the right was from my ‘74 variant. Possibly my ‘86 Quantum? In any event, they’re up for grabs..gratis

The one on the left is for the 412s. I think the one on the right is for the water cooled generation.

Chris,
You are correct about the 914s. I forgot about that. The were many similar parts used between the type 4s and the 914s.

I can be fairly dim sometimes...Why I didn’t notice the similarities between “the one on the right” and the one that resides under the deck of my golf...
Oh well...go back to sleep Chris.

There were two jacks for 411 and 412.
The crank model shown above that also fits 914....if you dig around...will be listed under part # 411 011 031A. Listed as FROM chassis # 412 2038 114. Typically found under the back seat with a clamp to hold it down.
This is what my parts book has:
The earlier model was listed as 411 011 031 and was for chassis UP TO 412 2038 113. It is essentially the type 1 jack and sometimes was mounted in the front trunk on the right hand side behind the headlight near that strange indentation....which was sometimes used for the AC dryer on the wheel side of the fender well.
