I am at the end of a body off restoration of my 68 bug. Original to the family since new. Body back to bare metal after repairs.
What are the pros and cons of each for appearance? BC/CC looks a bit too shiny for that vintage a vehicle IMO.
I'll get it professionally sprayed because I can't spray at home anyway due to pollution issues. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

Too shiny, high gloss is usually the goal of a new paint job. You have the same options whether you spray single or dual stage paint.
With either process you will end up with orange peel and other minor imperfections. This is where the cut and buff comes in. So don't put as much work in with the buff. When it gets to the shiny level that you desire, stop buffing. _________________ 1968 Beetle (storage)
