Not one shot of the Kubel on the straight and level! The 1st picture shows that the handbrake worked well (4 wheels of course), and the 3rd picture looking more like a prancing horse. Must have been going at some speed to achieve that take off.

Obviously, WH is the army, and WL the airforce, but what does the IS at the front of the number plate stand for? Don't think I've seen that before.

IS means "Provinz Hannover", near Wolfsburg. That´s a civilian registration.
