This thing looks great! Any more details on drop? Notch size? What position are beam adjuster in? Installing my Wagonswest kit this weekend.

Normally there’s the emoji holding up the signs of “this thread is worthless without pics”, but this one seems to be the exact opposite....

For the newbie jumping into the Bay world that doesn’t know the difference between a spline/3.25 plate/4.5 plate, or one that doesn’t have time to read through the presently 231 pages of the lowering thread, how about a brief description of modifications to accompany your pic? I’ve installed a Wagonswest beam/spindles/4.5 plates on a customer’s 78, so knowing HOW to do the lowering isn’t the issue. Since I found it comical you had to DEFLATE the rear tires to get them on the vehicle, I would prefer not to go as low on a 71 I got a while ago. So moving forward, could we please ad a couple sentences about SPECS/WHAT you did to accomplish the height of your Bus you posted in the pic? Then if you had further questions on HOW it was done, refer to the lowering sticky?

Hello all. Hope this is the right thread to join to ask for some knowledge. I have a 71 bay that I lowered about 11 years ago with a 4" narrowed adjustable beam and 2.5 drop spindles in the front and rear boomerang plates in the rear, all from Wagenswest.

I recently purchased a set of 15x5.5 empi 911 replicas that was listed as compatible with a 71 VW bus and already found that the rim is too wide (rear fender is in the way.)

Questions:

Could this be remedied if I raised the bus up a bit?
What tire sizes are you all running with similar setups?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you raise it up enough to have tire clearance, you likely will not be lowered anymore. Might have to get different offset wheels, or narrow the rear of your bus.

Probably better posted in the bay lowering thread for specific questions like this.
