Hello, looking for some help please. I purchased this sandrail with a broken crank pulley. Please see pic. It appears what's left of the pulley is some aluminum and what looks to be a steel ring. I was hoping to confirm that comes off as well so I can weld a puller onto it and get the rest of the broken pieces off without taking the engine apart.

Yes, both should be removed…cheap Empi aluminum pulley with steel sleeve

Remove the sand seal to give you more room

I would try to use a couple of new sharp std screwdrivers on both sides and pry gently to work it out, if that don't work pop out the seal to give your self a bit more room to work on it, you could try drilling a hole between the sleeve and the pulley bits and try to split the sleeve.

I would drill a "lot" of holes in the aluminum between the crank and the sand seal liner

I’d use two saddles from muffler clamps and some long bolts to grab it. From there you should be able to walk it off the crank. Love taps.

measure what's left first, so you know which size SS pulley to put back on when you are done. There are 2 standards.
