| I've been away from VW's for 20 years so this mite could be a dumb question. I have a really nice case and crank (GD023732). my understanding is that this would have had water-cooled heads. My question is will heads from a 1.7L engine fit, assuming they were bored out as needed? |

| A GD code engine would have been an aircooled 2.0L aircooled Type 4 engine. To get 1.7L heads to fit you would have to open up the registers as the OD of the 2.0L jugs are larger than 1.7L jugs. |
