Looking for a chrome plated or polished aluminum pop up fuel lid for the front deck of our dune buggy. Flush mounted type lid as in the pics attached. Must be around 5" to 5 1/2" OD. Would be helpful if you could send a link and/or a part number if you know where to find one. thx!

Do a search for custom gas doors, or caps
Amazon carries them. Many offroad suppliers too. They are often used on trucks. Also look under boat gas caps.

If having it waterproof is important, check out boat "Deck plates" I have a full roof and side curtains, so driving in the rain happens. Got tired of the rust on the top of the gas tank. Stainless looks nice but isn't cheap.

I had one hell of a time with this when building my buggy. All those filler doors have "applications" but no idea if it will fit in a plain flat fiberglass panel. No idea if the "screws" shown around the perimeter are real. I went with a stainless steel marine deck plate.

I used the 4 inch version of this. Here is another example, with the key (it isn't hard to make a key.)

Top gas door shown looks like a AMP RESEARCH gas door.... Very similar to the one I have ... Mine was designed for "M" class Mercedes.... Uses latching mechanism on hinge...

Bottom picture is cheap imitation cover that uses magnetic cabinet latch, the one on my autocross car was like that and it kept popping open, had to use duct tape on it to stay closed....

Go to various FLAPS and sort through the "Bling" till you find one that fits your needs....

JEEP door would be flat/slab sided...

The first pic is my hood and fuel door.

Back in 2003-2004 when I was building my buggy those doors were being made for just about every vehicle made.

I think mine was for a Dodge pickup if I recall. It was a pretty expensive piece back then.

Amp Research is the brand but I don't think you can get them anymore.

I was looking around and found this. Oval shape and no exposed fasteners gives it a clean and different look.

I just googled “aluminum gas door” and a bunch turned up. These are for a Jeep.

Ordered a chrome plated hinged fuel lid assembly for a Jeep Wrangler. With some modification it may be what I'm looking for.
