IMHO, this is way better than “slammed on earlies.” |

Ignore the haters, I always do.

If at a later date someone wants to convert it back it just a matter of unbolting the EV Motor of the gear box and remove the Battery box from under the rear seat.
Kit arrived from Netherlands
Motor and Tesla Battery Modules
The Old and the New
Charge port a perfect fit in the existing gas filler location |

Kiwipip, wow nice project! Curious why you went with EV Europe vs EVwest?
Seems shipping would be cheaper to your part of the world. |

Both kits are very similar and in actual fact shipping worked out about the same. We currently get hammered from shipping goods out of the West Coast USA to New Zealand.
I felt the EV Europe was a bit more Plug and Play and they were able to ship within 7 days of placing the order where there was quite a backlog for the EV West kit |

I think it's really important people see how a "respectful" EV conversion can be done (i.e. without the hacking) so that is why your thread is really important to the forum. If people see it done right often enough from the onset on this forum there will be less mutilation in the split bus world's future.
A bit personal but would you mind listing your expenses as you go?
Looking forward to your reports. _________________ 58Euro 23 343208 The Ultimate Zimblewinder Machine.

Thanks for the kind words and understanding.
Unfortunately Im at a bit of a standstill as I wait for some parts to arrive from the States and Safari Widows etc to come back from the chrome platers (Gee plating is so expensive here now) so I decided to tackle a bit on the EV side.
Normally guys drill the dash to install a gauge to show Battery usage and monitoring but I am installing a 7" Touch Screen Display that will show Range Speed etc plus you will be able to use it to change from drive to reverse etc.
In keeping with not wanting to destroy or hack the existing Truck, I am mounting it the overhead fresh air console, but I have purchased a new panel, I will keep the original one should someone ever want to change it back.
This is where it will be mounted, this existing panel will be kept
Marking out for the touchscreen in new panel
Holes cut need to finish the mounting plate at the back back and get it painted
The display will have all the info required

oh, i have never seen a bearing in INA packaging. I guess FAG bearings now come in INA packaging? i grew up right next to the Kugelfischer factory, hard to get used to seeing the INA branding when i go back to my hometown now. _________________ regards

Fitted the Mirror Arms on the DC today. I will be running with the larger mirror heads so put the Commercial arms on. The Double Cab is LHD and in our part of the world we drive on the RH side so good mirrors is essential.
Also fitted the dash Grab rail

I like the contrasting candycane paint job on the steering column matches the dash. _________________ 58Euro 23 343208 The Ultimate Zimblewinder Machine.

Definitely interesting, and more doable for those living in the US or Europe. All the taxes, duties, and exchange fees pretty much double the cost for those of us in Canada and some other countries. Has anyone heard of a unit made in Canada? |
