What is the best way (easiest) to start a Super Beetle with no ignition keys from the engine bay.
I am working on a barn find and want to see if I can get the engine to fire before investing a ton of time.
Looking for a easy trigger rig that I can make up or buy.
Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Attach battery positive to coil #15 positive terminal. Attach battery positive to large terminal on starter solenoid. Put into neutral, double check.

Use a jumper to momentarily touch small terminal on the starter solenoid.

Don't forget starting fluid into the carburetor throat !

Not sure I'd want to crawl under a barn find bug Wink

Under the rear seat there should be a large red wire running from behind the driver seat over towards the battery on the passenger side and thru the body beside where the positive battery lead goes to the starter. This big red wire has a quick disconnect near the tunnel. Disconnect it and put the end that will reach the battery on the positive terminal on the battery. That completes the starter solenoid circuit and the starter should turn. If it has an alternator just jump a wire from B+ to the side of the coil that DOESN'T have the points connection. Good luck
