a friend of mine had these on a rotten squareback and literally these were the only things worth saving lol. when I got them one lens was broken and well i found a replacement from france and fixed it. I can't wait to instill them on my 69 squareback.

What was your repair?
Interesting spherical reflector design, rather than the planar/retro-reflector type used more universally.
Oh, and what's a replector? One who replaces? A new Beatles producer? |

Thanks ktphil for pointing out a spelling mistake in my topic name I have since changed that. I'm glad you are such eagle eyed to notice someone mess up rather than where they fixed something. All I wanted to do was show that I saved something neat and let other see theres no need to be rude. |

I was trying to be funny (and helpful) by the way, not rude. Lighten up, Francis!
So how DID you repair the cracks? That might help others here. |

i gotcha my apologies for being up tight its hard for me to decipher if someone's being rude or just yanking my chain.
anyway replaced the lens i had found a single lens advertised as a bicycle reflector along with a neat square one. i found them listed on ebay in france for next to nothing so long story short the mrs got a neat square reflector on her schwinn and i had the fun task of removing the old busted lens. i wish i took pictures of my repair. i had to uncrimp the lens from the housing and switch it out as the housings were different. |

Yeah, net is ambiguous... I should have pasted a smiley.
Interestingly, I considered the possibility that "replector" might actually be a thing (in English or otherwise), and googled it. Apparently this is a VERY common misspelling! There are many sites and pictures using this spelling!
Good match on the "bubble" lenses on that reflector. Tough to match since this is a very old design. The modern (1940s) retro-reflector (prismatic) types are more efficient.
Bubble reflectors are not gone, though... the reflective paint striping and some signs use glass beads mixed in to get a reflective effect.
