Hi anyone know about scat cams I have a c25 it has 25 stamped on the face
would have been done before heat treating, but the letter C is faint been engraved on.
At the factory I was thinking, they would have stamped the C in not engraved it after heat treating.
never seen a scat cam before, so I have no experience there.
anyone have a scat cam they can check, any of the C series cams
it all came in a box with scatenterprises.com on it model 20004
but thats just the box.
my degree specs don,t match the scat specs
scat c25 specs
io 11 ic 47
eo 47 ec 11 238 duration for both inlet and exhaust
i have io 21 ic 37 eo 52 ec 2 duration inlet 238
exhaust 234 LSA 111.5 should be 108.
seems to be a faulty cam from scat, but is it a scat?

Sadly it is a typical Scat all over the place cam.
If we assume the numbers you write are correct you have a cam which is ground approx 8,5 degree advanced, which means approx 98 degree ILC !!! and on a 106 lobe separation. That is about 1 full tooth on the cam gear(!) I would not even use use it, but if you want to you can retard it 1 tooth on the cam gear and then advance the cam in the gear with 2 degrees. That should bring the cam back to something around 0 to 2 degrees advanced.

Hi
I have a Scat c25 type 4 cam here. I got it new in the last 6 months.
The "c25" is stamped on the end, looks like they used three different stamps. ( not one stamp that says "c25")
I am concerned with this issue of bad Scat cams.Because I was wanting to put this cam in my bus. There was a post over at bay bus with this same problem.
And Mr. Alstrup seems to see this a lot.
How does one check to make sure cam is in spec. or not, outside the engine?
Is there a good video or other info on degree-ing a cam before it's installed?

Thanks

How to tell if it's a Scat cam? If it's garbage then it's a Scat

Your engine will run better with a Web cam or one from the type 4 store.
