My UK based 1970 Beetle

So the story starts, wanted a beetle for a long time and with the prices on the rise, now was the time, found this 1970 Mint green beetle approx 2.5 hours away, having had all new pans, wings, front and rear valance etc, seemed like the perfect base.

Upon arriving at the guys house this is what greeted us..

Decided to jump in at the deep end and first drive was 2.5 hours back, followed by my mate in my transporter...

Decided pretty quickly that the cream on the wheels and the chrome running boards and arch guards weren't my thing, and that it sat far too high, so changed them bits up, which produced this, within the first 2 weeks..

Ordered a roof rack and installed that..

Just ordered some smoothies and got them painted body colour, see teaser below..

Will be fitting these at the weekend and probably tweaking the front a little lower, let me know your thoughts.

Great choice of mods and those smoothies will definitely add to the look.

looks like a good find. you obviously don't have the speed bump infested roads that I have to suffer!

and plod says 'where's ya front number plate?' Laughing

Haha, you wanna see the road just on my housing estate, i have to reverse onto the drive as the roads are finished yet, awful Shocked

as for the number plate...looks cleaner without Embarassed

So the smoothies went on just before winter, this also confirmed we need more lows...
