I understand when butt welding is needed but how do you know when spot welding is used/needed as per original assembly? Is it just by a visual inspection?

i try to make the Spotwelds where they were Original, but at least a added some more between, i try to weld every position like it was Original.

For me every little piece is a challenge, when i thinking some months back i think to myself: why did you don’t make that better??

Finished the driver side inside dogleg:

Funny Story by the way:

Yesterday night a buddy came to me, while he watched me Tig welding he said:
Stop that! You only heating holes there! here drink some Beer with me! (He was right, the last 8 spots were really terrible, i burned some 5mm holes between the panels instead some flat little metal lakes)
So i quite that work and we get some beer, after some he looks to my welder and says, you need some gas… and he also was right, the Argon Bottle were empty, that’s why my welding get that bad… Laughing

So that evening we stayed at the beer, and today i bought some new gas before i gone to the shop and finished that welding Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

What are you using as the little perfect saw to cut the rusty patches out?

Cutting itself is not exact.
I use a dremel with a small diameter 0,6mm disc, cut it roughly and grind the rest to the line with a powerfile and a handfile at least.

Yesterday there were a good Day for the Sparsamba.

While i made the Klassic fab rear cross meber fitted i used a nos one as Template, i see that i have enough spare nos rear cross members so that i can use one here, i i decided to use it here.

For the Heater Tube i ordered a new repro one Yesterday, because it is to Rusty to repair, while i searching in the nos parts i found the two parted nos heater tube i have in stock so i also used that.

>fittet and weldet everythink.

>on the rear corners/ pillars are huge rust damage the KF repair part doesn't fit, i should look for a alternative...

I ordered some hopefully correct rear pillars from UK, so the work on the rear corners stand still.

not very motivating, so i worked on the inside, a former owner cutted out the spare wheel tray, i made one some times ago, Kappes Erich borrowed me one as template.

i cut out the remains from the old part and make the new one fit, while i am there i seen the nut for the rear backrest is loose, so i also must repair that.

There are also many holes from former Camper conversation...
