Holy crap!! Where was that? |
Ashland. The Roadster might sit for a couple months at this time of year and gas with ethanol can and has clogged an injector or two when I start it up after sitting. So at the end of a trip it gets the $$$$ stuff.
Prices are trending downward here and I think that was an old price. I'll probably have to fill one of the motos in the next couple weeks (they also get ethanol-free because ethanol does bad things to the carb floats on these bikes) and I expect the price will be much better. |
My R90 is in long term storage. I popped the bowls off a little while ago just to double check, as I could not recall if it was stored with fuel in there or not. Nope, clean and dry. |
I turn the fuel taps off about a mile from home. The bowls will drain within 1 minute after getting home at idle on the centerstand when I do that. _________________ 2000 M Roadster

I do the same with my Moto Guzzi. As long as I remember just after I turn that corner a few blocks away, it works every time. _________________ nothing |

Holy crap. I was just excited to see less than $5.00! Actually one place had $4.59. That's the cheapest I've seen in a long time here. |

Paid $3.49 at Fred Meyer after the ten cent discount, yesterday.
That was the first time in months, I didn't have to spend over $100 to fill the tank in my Tundra. _________________ I have learned over the years.

11/27: paid $5.60 for diesel in Bourne, MA
12/3: paid $5.09 for diesel in Washington, DC
Weird that the price of diesel is significantly cheaper in the city… _________________ 77 Westy - Cape Cod Sage

Premium $4.50 at Costco (SoCal) last week. It's been dropping steadily.
In California we pay $1.15 per gallon (excise and other taxes), plus state local taxes of upwards of 10%. So if the base cost is $3, California and local taxes make it $4.50.
Self-inflicted.
Time to get rid of our special fuel mixes, which cost more and make us susceptible to maintenance and failure shutdowns, with resultant price spikes.
That might have been a good idea at one time, but no longer. Our CO2 goals are spoiled by volcanoes and forest fires, so we are nipping at the margins with special gas... at a high premium in cost!

We never paid much attention to diesel prices until we bought a diesel powered RV.
The prices are definitely high.
State taxes help influence the differences in price not to mentioned federal taxes.
Here in Ohio we have been floating at $5.99 gal. for quite a while.
We are taxed at $.47 gal.
Massachusetts $.24
DC $.23
Then you add in whatever the local prices are set at.
We travelled cross country for the first time late this summer.
IIRC we paid around $6.15 in SoCal.
The remainder of the trip seemed to average about $4.00.
It seems that $5 to $6 diesel is the new normal. _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.”

$2.49 for entry level 87 in & around the San Antonio, Tx. metro areas. Been like this for about 3days now. Varies by zip code - huh.
A few places at @2.45 but some greedy places are still $2.65.
Enjoying it while it lasts.
Best ... stay safe

PS ... oddly enuff we have several Wally Worlds & HEBs nearish to us with wildly variable items in stock from store to store. We've needed multiples of something & drove to different ones only to find out we were denied.
Also go to get an item only to find an empty space. Arghhh ! _________________ " It's not valuable unless you learn something from an experience. " Henry Ford

@ madmike ...
I get that one
- wife & I liked to get "Simple Supper" from that big retailer. It's about a 20 ounce meal in a can cuz all you have to do is add ground meat. Very easy & makes enuff to have leftovers for a kwik lunch. Used to have 4 varieties to choose from but of course the one we liked is not stocked anymore.
Same with chocolate creamer from grocery store (I've had Crapbucks coffee twice in my life but was treated so no support from my wallet). Both good sellers as sometimes only one on shelf or have to wait till truck day. Guess our money isn't green enuff.
SO FRUSTRATING - we're creatures of habit.
I thought the purpose of a retail store was to SELL items to people.
87 octane jumped .10 cents overnite to $2.59
Greediest are at $2.74 _________________ " It's not valuable unless you learn something from an experience. " Henry Ford
