I recently acquired a 1984 high top and would like to see if anyone could give me a hand with the power panel. I don't know much about the van because the previous owner didn't know much about it either. I'm guessing it was not a US sold Vanagon since everything is labeled in German. Would love to know what the power panel switches do, anyone have a panel like this?

Reimo offered aftermarket conversion kits and stuff to transform your Vanagon into a camper.

Left to right:
Kuhlschrank: fridge
Licht: light
Heiz: heat
Reserve 1 and 2
Pumpe: Pump
Frisches wasser: cold water
Abwasser: grey water
Lufter: fan
Ein/aus : On/off
Laden : load or charge

Now that's what the panel says, next you have to see if it's wired correctly... Have fun!

Thank you sooooo much, that’s a huge help! Time to follow the wires to each thing. I’m excited to get everything working in here.

as above already described - it was Reimos own panel for 12V systems on all their conversions up to mid '90s

The red buttons are circuit breakers for the marked appliance circuits.

The on/off switches switch the circuits marked:
12V is the main switch for the 12Volt circuits.
With the Laden you can choose which battery is charged by the onboard shore power charger.
Kühl-schr. lüfter - 12V switch for the absorber fridge vent fan
Pumpe is the main switch for the fresh water tap pump.

The level meter is a voltmeter with a custom gauge backplate with ranges for both voltage and tank quantities.

The momentary buttons make the contact for the level indicator gauge
Batt1 - ususally main car battery
Batt2 - usually house battery
Fresh or grey water tank levels (they are indicated in percentage of the tanks, voll is full)

the reserved ones are for custom user applications
