| lotto enhances education....so you figured out somebidy else is always winning...and it's a scam....so in the end it works as intended and you have been eddjewmakated. it's gambling.nothing more.its' betting your money that somebody else will win.and you win the bet every time but they get the $$$ as thats what you were betting on. |

Don't count on it. Our government just released the numbers for Canada's first year with legal weed. The losses were astronomical.

I don't know if Oregon made or lost money on weed but as long as a majority of voters stay high, they'll keep approving new taxes like the new 1% family leave tax effective 1/1/23.
Registration fees are interesting though. It costs $316 to register an all electric vehicle and "only" $156 for a 40mpg+ car, $136 for 20-30mpg, and $126 0-19mpg. Pre-1999 are $126. So electric vehicle gas tax losses from the 38¢ per gallon state gas tax is offset somewhat by the registration fee. |

Hmmm.
40 mpg car uses 250 gallons for 10,000 miles, so $750 gas and $300 in gas tax.
They are recovering $200 from fees , which is fair.
