Thanks for your interest!
Ya, thought I was ready - weather was good - nice turn out - engine running super - but...
This happened!
A couple of the young fellows took it for a practice run while we were setting up and on the third lap - no steering!!
So - no racing! Man I just can't seem to get a break here! Well actually - when I think about it - I got a HUGE break. This didn't happen on the street!
So the Buggy sat out the race in the parking lot.
More details about the race here:https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=731912 |

We are past the COVID restrictions that prevented our fun the last 2 years but unfortunately we had a dry summer, the ponds and sloughs are empty so... no ice to race on! I thought about using one of the small lakes or a trout pond in one of these towns but as soon as you move off private property things get complicated. Meetings with town/county councils, permits, insurance, setting up of written safety protocols, expectations of safety equipment, naming of officials and their qualifications and on and on it goes.
All we want is to have some low speed, low stress, low investment, low risk fun with our new drivers!
We are having a record snow fall winter right now so... next winter? I have the sand rail winter ready now too!
Thanks for your interest, we miss it too! It's the most fun you can have in winter and still keep your clothes on... which by the way turns out to be not that much fun once frost bite sets in... Ok, too much information! _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit.
