Home values are based on location. The closer you are to an ocean the more valuable you home/land is. Here in middle America where we are a 12 hr drive to the Gulf of Mexico houses are 1/3 the price they are selling for if you live near the ocean on either the East or West coasts.

China is buying up a lot of the rural farm land around here so they can get into the "medical" marijuana trade, but that isn't having any effect on big city housing values.
