Now that's a milestone. A long time in the making too. Congrats!! Applause Applause Cool Cool
Soon the really hard work will start...putting it back together. Deciding what will be replaced, versus cleaned up and rebuilt. Those little bits make or break a restoration.

Yesss thanks Cool

More pictures to come, the papers are now at the insurance to get a new license plate, the technical inspection you can go with your daily plates here when you notify the insurance company

Next thing is to put the bert3 dropped spindles in the front, in the rear the original sagging is just right that the wheel arch is even with the tires

Just a question, because the dropped spindles are aluminium, does that mean the torque values change also? Because with cylinder heads, metal and aluminium sparg plugs holes have also differenc torque values...

I don't think Bert's lowered spindles are aluminum, but rather steel. I'd contact him to make sure though. I know when I do a 2 spline drop with the stock parts, I don't change the torque specs. And I've driven my own (lowered in the front and50+ year sage in the rear) all over the USA. About the only thing that really upsets the front, is the abrupt bridge meeting the freeway joints. Sometimes it would be nice if they added a little black top there to smooth it out. I don't know if they planned (when it was built) to come back and grind a taper there or not, but most that I've come across haven't been ground yet.

Hello,

Chrome molybdenum with added Silicium 42 to be exact.

Made in 2007.

I actually thought of making another 50 sets some months ago and started doing my research again with current prices in our inflated economy.

I ended up with material and machine costs of a minimum of 25K...

Yeah, I didn't think they were aluminum. I know you started with a billet of Chrome Moly, and whittled it down from there.

Dropped the car with dropped spindles, default torsion bar setting, kept the old dust guards and put on a shallow nut to the steering arm at one side because of rubbing to the disc brake

Hahaha! In the picture, it looks like your tires are low in pressure! Wow! Your squareback came out beautiful! But we missed the whole reassembly process!
