ah, this is one of these complete bodys from klassicfab. The first time I can see one, as the pictures on their homepage are not that detailed!
Keep up the good work, looking forward the result of the fully assembled car. Your threads are kind of reference-threads here. |

Hey Folks here are some fun updates on the 47
|
Hi. As somebody else says, the car is looking great. Some proud owner is going to be very happy once that is finished. I know I would be.
Question, and I'm not being picky, but has that ID tag been welded on again at some stage, as the welding looks so neat? The reason I ask, is when Rich Oakley came to sell his 47 a couple of years ago, the potential purchaser wouldn't believe that the tag was original to the chassis, because the welds attaching it looked like a 7 year old had welded them on in training. True bird shit welding, which he couldn't equate to VW standards!
I was requested to send pictures of the tags on the two 47 chassis's I have, to show the quality of the original welds, also shown to be done in haste, and without a care it would seem. I quess it must be a quandry when doing a good resto, as to whether to keep a rubbish original feature, or improve it. |

Jason, I’m sad there won’t be updates on the fine craftsmanship you’ve been doing over the years. But glad to see what you have achieved and preserved for your customers and the vw community.
Thanks for sharing the updates on the 47, it’s definitely a one of a kind car now with the works carried out on it that have been second to none!
All the best for the future, an please update if and when u can or feel like!

^^^Thanks Brother^^^
However I’m just the messenger now
Joey is doing a wonder job on it… and he has graciously given me the blessing to share his progress to keep this thread alive 👊
I have stepped away from the assembly portion of restorations….
I have additionally stepped away from social media and closed my shop in Orangevale, now I only do repeat customers and inner circle word of mouth metal restoration projects from my home in the hills. ⚒🤍🕊☑️🪨
I had a good run and enjoyed the journey , now the time has come to silence the brand and focus on what I love to do and the happiness it brings… 😇
I’m truly grateful for all those who believed in and encouraged me through the years. 👊 |
