I am doing a restomod on a 69 Beetle. There is damage from a front end collision that has been somewhat repaired but there is quite a few wrinkles left. I also have a front clip that is in good shape from a donor car. I'm hoping to get some feed back about weather I should try to further repair the original or weld in the donor clip. What do you think? Pictures below of the current damage.

If it was me I would make a bumper mount that has a hook on the end of it so you could take a come-a-long and pull it out. It would take some time to get it where you need it but I do not believe it is crunched that bad. |

I'd try repairing it. As mentioned I'd try pulling it. Get some tension into the panel, and then work the hammer and dolly on the wrinkles. _________________ modok wrote:

Thanks for the advice! I think an old nerf bar would probably work to hook the come-along to but I will have to wait until the body is back on the pan try that. I am not trying to build a show car and I think pulling it back out will be easier. I did a lot of welding in the early to mid 90's but I'm sure I'm going to have to relearn those skills once I get into the bodywork. There are some bends in those areas from the factory and I think the biggest issue will be figuring out how to reform them properly. Thanks again! _________________ '69 Beetle (pieces)

Bolt the fenders & bumper on it.
Only heat/hammer & dolly anything underneath that messes up the fit/gaps.
Wrinkles underneath don't need straightening usually. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Depends on what you plan on doing with the car. It could be repaired, but I'd bet it tears a bit when pulling. _________________ '67 Beetle L41
