hi all,
I'm looking to replace my tan carpet in my early (first week) 1953 zwitter.
who has the best, most accurate carpet in the USA?
i know wolfsburg west and west coast metric are common places to purchase.
anywhere else? I don't mind paying a little more if one is superior.
thanks in advance.

I can't recommend Wolfsburg West. I bought a carpet set for my 54 and was disappointed with the fit. The piece behind the rear set was too narrow and the front A pillar pieces were short and the wrong shape. This amazed me because they never changed the shape of the car from beginning to end so you'd think getting the shapes right would be a slam dunk.

I concur.
Marcus supplied and installed an as-original interior in my March 1952 Typ 10/12G Deluxe LHD crotch cooler split (and the 3-fold sunroof w/ headliner) -and it is fantastic!
He is a master craftsman and a superb communicator!
I highly recommend his products & services! _________________ 1952 Azure Blue 12G (LHD Deluxe 3-fold sunroof Sedan).

Marcus Raeke hands down. I just got my full carpet kit set from him for my 53 zwitter. Very very pleased.

If you're looking for the best match to original, Marcus.
But, he is not in the US. _________________ modok wrote:

He will ship. Orders come from Germany. |

True, though there's nothing like experienced installation by the maestro himself.
I forgot to mention in my initial reply that it was during restoration by Nancy and her husband Dick that arrangements were made for Marcus to fly in for the interior installation; It was a bit of an "orchestrated production" making sure all the materials; tools (and sufficient workspace) was lined up in advance...All seams are tight and straight; the headliner is smoothtly adhered around the split windows and well stretched between the bows and edges.
(carpeting likewise)!
The end results are like Leonardo himself created a masterpiece! _________________ 1952 Azure Blue 12G (LHD Deluxe 3-fold sunroof Sedan).

Wow. Talk about dedication. I did purchase a complete interior from Marcus over the pandemic, and it is patiently waiting for the car to be painted. I honestly don't know who I will find to do the headliner for me, it's probably not the project for me to learn on..
Marcus did go the extra mile for me and stitched the seat padding into the covers after testing them on frames, to make my installation easier. His workmanship is definitely top of the class. _________________ modok wrote:
