Deal must've fallen through. It was pending when I looked at it this morning, but not anymore. _________________ Currently own:

Could be a scam.
A desirable item (this Ghia) is listed for far below its true value to generate some buzz. A potential buyer (the mark) doesn't want to miss out on a super deal and will agree to send a full or partial payment to lock down the sale.
Guess what happens next.
Right...there is no car, and the 'seller' evaporates into thin air with the mark's funds. _________________ '63 Ragtop (current)

It's pending again. I'm always a little wary of ads from sellers who have 0 posts, 0 topics started, 0 photos regardless of when they joined.
The seller's name is sofakinwetawdid. Took me a sec to figure it out.
So fakin wetawdid. Say it out loud and you'll get it _________________ Currently own:

I’m leaning toward that conclusion too!
At that price it should have been gone the minute it was posted. _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.”

It would rare to see a scam ad from a user who joined in 2006 but it's possible. |

I wonder if it's possible to hack into the site to alter one's 'joined' date? Might make the 'seller' appear more legit if it looks like they'd been around for a while. _________________ '63 Ragtop (current)

It's not impossible but I've never seen it happen.
I have seen people who lost their accounts to scammers and ads were posted.
Either they got tricked into giving them their password or they lost control of their email and the scammer reset their password and got in here... along with tons of other places that used their same email. _________________ How to Post Photos
