As I bought my van, the AC belt was off and stowed in the closet. The rad fan would come on with the "snowflake switch", however, the evap blower would not blow. Troubleshooting today, I got the blower to work on 1,2 and 4 speed, but not 3. I think it may be a switch issue, as I did not find any problems. I did notice that the rad fan does not turn on with the "snowflake" until about 180* turn of the switch; whereas the blower fan will blow as soon as the "snowflake" is moved. Is this normal? Please feel free to correct my nomenclature Smile
In addition, my van has a outside air temp switch of below 41f/5c. How can this be bypassed to see if the compressor clutch works? Thus far, I am assuming from how good the wiring all looks, as well as how "nicely" the compressor belt was stored, that perhaps the PO didn't need the ac or want the hp loss in the mountains.

Thanks for your help.
