Hey guys, hope someone can help me..

I am restoring a 66 11 window bus, full restored underneith with new
Shift rod guide tube welded in, straight axle conversion with split bus nosecone offcourse and new csp front shift rod linkage, all new bushings and couplers as well..
Now here's the thing.. the end of the long shift rod from front to back (where it goes in the coupler at the gearbox) was totaly worn out so i weld it back solid and drilled a new 'hole' where the coupler bolt goes, when i install it everything goes in tight with no play.

When i install the shifter it only goes to the front and back 1-2 or 3-4..
It doesn't goes sideways!!

Could it be that i drilled the new 'hole' incorrect?
Or does someone has a good picture how the front (2) holes and the rear holes line up?

Hope that you guys understand my problem, my english isn't that good Smile

Thanks in advance!

You are saying no reverse? If you disconnect the bolt does it work sideways?

Hole drilled offset or the rear shift coupler if new is offset.

Reads to me like he's only getting two gears but doesn't know which.

And that he installed the nosecone on a new(?) gearbox.

I vaguely recall something about aligning the shift pegs correctly on the gearbox before installing the nosecone so the hockey stick engages correctly in neutral? Can't find the link though.

That might explain why he has no lateral movement in the shift rod?

EDIT - To the OP - Disconnect the shift rod from the coupler and try turning and pulling and pushing the hockey stick where it projects form the nosecone to see if you can select gears. Use grips, but pad the jaws so you don't damage the surface of the hockey stick (it slides in bushes and they help reduce oil leakage - if you damage the stick you'll get premature wear and play in the hockey stick and an early oil leak)
