My 65 has been off the road for 17 years, targeting return this summer.

Needs full mechanical, have BerT3 dropped spindles, wide 5 discs, dual channel master, .... been collecting parts
Having a 2110 built, tranny is already done.
Planning to keep the paint, all the window seals baked in the Roswell NM sun so it'll get a headliner at the same time.
If there's any money left, it needs an interior.

A very nice foundation to build upon. I wish my car survived outside the garage as well as yours did inside. But then mines got some repop seals in places that are failing.

New stance (a little tough see final view with the motor out). Spindle drop and 2 outer splines (I think, I did the re-index years ago)

Next up remainder of the brake system with all new lines, and switch to dual channel master. Then on to wiring harness, battery section of pan replacement, .... and so on.

Interior planning in progress, stock-ish. Looking for a cloth fabric similar to the red mesh. Thinking I'm going with the earlier two tone pattern on the seats.

Nice work on the brakes. I think I need to copy your stone guard cutouts for my bert spindles. I just left them off on my car but think I might revisit that after seeing yours done that neat.
Also, which wide 5 front brake kit sre you using?

I'm not sure on the brake kit, maybe Empi. Bought it years ago, not able to find the receipt at the moment. I'll report back once I find it.

In other news, I'm working to source the interior. I want to go stock-ish but not trying to exactly match stock. My original interior would have looked like this with the red mesh on the face of the seats.

I like the early two tone seats, especially the cloth rather than vinyl on the seat bottom. Thinking of doing a variation on that.

I received some samples from the auto fabric supplier. Funny how the material can be so different than what you think you see in the picture. The sample on the right is TMI's recreation of red mesh, it's really good. I love the one on the bottom, reminds me of my childhood riding around in cars from the 60's and early 70's.

In my opinion, red mesh looks the best. You could do what Tim did here with a two-tone:

That's who I used on my T-34 conversion to disc brakes.
Myself, I prefer cloth seats in the summer, which more than likely will be when you drive this car the most (same times as I use my 65 Notch). I hate sticking to vinyl in hot weather. My T-34 had a cloth insert, but it wasn't wide enough, so I carried a couple of towels to help soak up the sweat. The cloth seats do make a difference if you're doing any long distance driving (more than an hour at a time). I'm not a purist, so I went with gray velour in my own car.

I haven't done any bodywork to my 72 Square, but today was the day of the first shakedown test drive, which went incredibly well considering the condition of my particular rustbucket. Previous owner says it was last driven 5 years ago, so not as long off the road, but either way, I hope this is your year as well friend!

I'd probably replace the seam sealer around that area once the black paint is dry. At least the "gap" will be sealed by the paint, but adding some seam sealer will help in the long run.

8.7:1 CR with .060" deck

Researching ignition options was a deep rabbit hole. Remind myself to trust my engine builder, I picked him for a reason. We decided to run the Bosch 010 distributor with a Pertronix Ignitor points replacement, Pertronix Flamethrower coil, and MSD 6AL.

Running a switch controlled electric fuel pump with Revolutions Electronics controller to an Aeromotive 13222 regulator feeding Weber 42 DCNFs. Currently looking at velocity stacks which are necessary for my flat top DCNFs. I believe the cast rosette style will be too tall so I'm going with the Berg T3 short stacks.

Looking forward to seeing how the Vintage Speed T3 DCNF linkage works out. Feels like a quality part.

The engine looks good. Cool That is one heck of an exhaust system. Almost looks like a plumbers nightmare with the tubing going everywhere. Wink
