So here is the hatch lock on our 76 Westy. I have cleaned, lubricated abd adjusted MANY times. Finally bent the arm a little so that the button “ arm” contacts the swivel enough to open …. But it looks ( to me) like there is something missing? Bob

hard to tell from the photo, but the arm on the lock looks tweaked toward the rear. this would hinder the function. not sure what the “button” is all about. here’s a photo from ez gruv:

Thanks for the pic, and the assurance that nothing is missing. The arm was bent quite a bit , and I straightened it out…. Looks like a little more tweaking and it will be correct. The two holes in the arm “threw” me, and I read a couple of old posts where a washer was glued to the arm as well. Again, thanks! Some folks tie a string or wire to those two holes so you can pull the cord and open the rear hatch from the inside.
