Nice little video and a sweet bus. Kentucky has some advantages for buses in the winter - mine is tucked away until April.

Question: did I hear you shifting up as you approached a 15 mph corner?

Ha - nah, shifting to neutral I think - that 15mph curve goes straight down to stop sign.

Thanks! Hope to post once a week - just something about the sounds of a bus bugging around town.

Week 4 - the bus is dreamy in the snow. Really enjoyed making this one.

Your video skills are improving greatly, some really nice production going on here, however, I can't seem to hear your bus running on all 4 cylinders. Sounds like you've got a dead one in all of these videos; in the cold start video it doesn't sound right turning over. Anyone else?

Great video! But please tell me that you weren't driving around on recently plowed and salted roads! There is a reason why those of us in the Midwest and East park our "babies" away for the salty winter season. Enjoy your Splitty!

Looks like you found a nice, solid bus to start off with, a smart move. I’m surprised it came out of Georgia. That interior and especially that spice rack came out crazy nice.

The videos are good. Simple, understated, and filmed steady and in such a way the viewer doesn’t become dizzy. Not sure how others feel, but I appreciate that you didn’t add a bunch of loud music or distractions. Less is more sometimes.

And agree with the previous poster about the engine. Perhaps just an exhaust leak, but it sounds like it has a skip…perhaps time to adjust the valves, set the timing, new plugs etc.

Danke All!

Yep - definitely feel like its overdue for a valve adjustment. That was actually on my list of videos to film. Hopefully for week five or six. It did have an exhaust leak about a year ago, and I suspect the flange is loose again. Will investigate (in video).

And glad the style is coming across as I envisioned it - for me, I see a lot of YouTube with a ton of extra talk, chatter, music (Youtube favors long form videos) so I thought since this is really a personal thing - to force myself to drive the bus weekly and make something creative - I'd keep it simple.

Thanks for watching!

.....oh, and I'm well aware of the salt thing in the midwest. This is the first time I've driven it in the snow... won't be a habit, but man is it fun to drive.

Here's the valve adjustment - still thinking I've got an exhaust leak or need plug wires. Although the video doesn't show it, I swapped in new plugs while I was at it. Runs way better now, but still sounds a bit off.

This might be the best video I’ve ever seen for valve adjustment.
I’ve never done it and had a shop do mine for years. Cost has exceeded $100 recently with new V cover gaskets. A rip off if you ask me.
Will be doing it myself from now on even though I’m 81 yrs old. I do have a lift in my shop to make it easier.
Oh, your fan belt looks a bit loose.
Thanks for the great, easy to understand video.
