Hello, I have a 1967 beetle with no restraining strap for the rear seat up right. I would like to know how to install this before I recover my rear seat. Thanks

Just to make sure I'm understanding - are you referring to the rubber strap that holds it up: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=571616&highlight=rear+seat+strap

Or the tie down strap that holds it down?

If you are talking about the strap that holds the seatback down, I found this image, from a post in the second link, to be most helpful. I still don't know how it's attached.
Given my intended use for my '65 I'll probably not bother with the hold-down strap.

If you are talking about the rubber strap that holds the seat up:

There is a rubber strap that is screwed to the right side of the rear seat back. Look for a hole in the rear seat back frame to locate the proper position.

A hook is attached to the right rear sidewall that the rubber strap hooks over. Look for two holes, one larger than the other, about 1/2" apart.

This photo from the '65 owners manual shows both the hold-down strap and the hold up rubber strap.
