Just thought I’d share a couple new buses I’ve found in the wild and right here in the classifieds.

Ran an ad looking for old Ghias and three years later ended up with this.
1962 DC with a 1960 SC bed. Done properly with new rails running from stem to stern. It was built in the late 70s but never completed. Came with extra gates, pedestals, seats, doors, etc but missing most of the small stuff. We plan on completing the project.

Always wanted to build one of those back in the day. I have seen a few over the years that were done pretty well.

Or a nice old racing BMW with a sidecar.

The guy I know, his sister had it on Dead tour back in the 80s and sold her hand made glass blown kaleidoscopes out of it. I believe it was parked in late 80s early 90s. The property where the bus was stored was being sold, so the current owner was finally ready to let it go

Interesting. When did the upper vents on panels stop?? Is that a '67 only panel thing?

Here's a Crusty Westy SO-42 that we excavated recently.

Scruff mc gruff!

parting or fixing?

My plan is to eventually cut the frame and running gear out for another Bus I have. I don't plan to list any parts for sale. I'm dealing with stage 4 cancer currently so dealing with parts requests/shipping would be pretty low on my priority list. I might consider selling it as is but it's probably worth more to me for the pieces I need than anyone would want to pay.

Sorry to hear about your health concerns. I'm looking for a walk through icebox. I have a bench box to trade. Any chance that is a walk through bus and box? I will buy outright too. Thanksl

It’s a walkthrough panel thing. I’m not sure why but walkthrough panel vans didn’t have upper vents

It’s because a walk-thru wouldn’t have had a cab divider, so with the upper vents you’d be exposed inside to the outside temperature differences…

Thanks. Does that mean all panel vans had a cab divider from new?

This bus was extracted yesterday from where it sat since 1999.

A keen eye will be able to tell that there is something uncommon that shows up on the mcode plate for this particular model.

Mcode for "Official Transport - San Onofre Surf Club".

That dash does look interesting....
