I have come across an old Italian Weber 36 IDF 16.

The carburetor top is unusual in that it has brass tubes (as bowl vents ?) running from near the bottom of the bowl to an inch or so above the top.
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Anyway, carburetor top casting is broken at the fuel inlet.

So which Weber tops are compatible with this carburetor?

Thanks, Mondshine

Most 36 and 40 idf tops could fit more or less.
Some of the 40IDF the top diameter is machined to 40mm but as cast they are about 38
Most tops.... where those high speed enrichment tubes goes is not machined, but could be drilled.

Its a Trijet carb. Originally designed as an aftermarket part (kit) for ACVW 13/1600 dual port, Fiat 131 1300 Mirafiori and Alfa Romeo 1200 ti (Before Alfa did their own dual carbed ti and some Ford Escort 1300 engines.
you can use any 36 mm IDF top on the body. You just have to rejet for regular twin system use.

I thought the tubes sticking up were to help keep debris out of the carb...??
