I am on the hunt for a replacement dip stick used or new and can't find one anywhere on the internet or at local shops.
I have a 87' Vanagon, 2.1L. If you have one can you measure the length for me and I might be able to buy a generic one as I can't seem to even find a part number for it to reference either.
Thanks in advance,

@kamzcab86 - You are a wizard my friend. Thanks so much. Part ordered. I seriously can't believe you found it. I searched around for hours.

She surely is. Here is some reference info I pulled from the website in case someone down the road needs some specs on this part:
Oil dipstick, automatic gearbox, 575 mm
Product No: 090 321 431
Looks like same part from 5/1979 - 7/1992
I was doing searches for "Vanagon auto transmission dip stick" and every variation you can think of. Nothing. Now I'll probably find the one I lost before this one arrives from France.

Part arrived from France. It was an original VW part from Volkswagen Classic Parts.

Kam is kind of an amazing Wizard with her skills and knowledge! |
Not so much a wizard; just familiar with the parts catalog.😊
Ironically, I took my van to a huge local car show this past weekend - the only Westy on display - and met two local T3 owners, one of whom asked the same question about the dipstick, but needs the tube as well. _________________ ~Kamz
