Does anyone have the tooling for relieving the cases for stroker conversion using the line boring kit? Would you be willing to share pictures, and dimensions so they could be reproduced? Thank you in advance! 😊 |

Seems like you're asking for something that bolts onto the line bore bar that can stroke relieve with?
Only way I know how to do it (easy) is with a mill. Use a 1"-1 1/2" full radius endmill and carve it out. _________________ "A petrol engine can start readily, run smoothly and give every appearance of being in good order, without necessarily being in good tune." - Colin Campbell, "The Sportscar Engine" |

I have heard of this technique but it's pretty old school technology. Most people do it with a bridgeport, like the video.
Here at Mofoco, we have been using a CNC machine for the last 25 years. We had to build a dedicated fixture, buy special tooling and then we remove all the studs. All that's left after the machine is to debur all the machined edges. I will have to take another video(I just did one yesterday for a motor) The nice thing is that there is no guesswork and it comes out exactly the same every time. _________________ Please "LIKE" us on facebook to see what we are working on.

I wonce tore appart a less than 1000 mile motor that had expired...it was stroker clearanced with a chizzell by the looks of it. you knoe the type of guy...I cant say whoo did it, but it was from up in the "great northwest." and he claims he is a machinest.....ya right, keep smoken that stuff... doing it by hand takes a little while, but works fine.if you have a mill and know how to use it and have some to do it should not be hard to do. I have 2 mills, but as of yet all my bubble top cases dont need it. doing it by hand just takes more tyme. |
