If someone buys this one, I might be interested in the "custom stripper pole" _________________ '87 Syncro Westfakia, 1.9TD ADE (AAZish), 068 Injection Pump, K03 turbo, 2.5" exhaust, Mercedes nozzles, SAAB Blackstone charge-cooler w/ 800cfm fan, Micro-1000 EGT sensor pre-turbo, boost at about 13psi, 235/70/16 with stock gearing |

GWTWTLW, let me know if you get any interest in your idea. I might be interested in the GW engine if it is not damaged, the price is right and there is some documentation. Problem is I live in Boise so can't really do anything about helping to part out if bought.

I like. Sent him a message a while ago. I'll bet he's flooded with e-mails about now and wishing he'd posted to eBay instead. _________________ '85 Westy |

When I posted my westy to be parted out a couple years ago, I was overwhelmed with emails. Probably a hundred in a couple days. It took forever to sort them and find the real buyers out of the group. Be patient. I'm sure there will be a response eventually. _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |

Rats! Coulda used the left rear quarter panel.
But, I agree, the real story is that this van took a major beating and the owner lived to post it on CL. _________________ 93 EVMV

Nothing horrible about that. _________________ 1987 Westy Auto Bostig 2.0 Ztec |

one day, we will have kevlar westy tops at our disposal--the materials quadruple the cost but the labor to lay it up, trim and finish are the same, except kev eats tooling and smells like a pole cat as its cut. superior product, no doubt.

That would make a great parts van for me.
just need to source a good westy roof/top and you could convert a syncro to a full camper with the newer interior.
Or you could convert a 87+ weekender to a full camper.
Or just have a hardtop westy.
Or buy one of those new hightops and have a hightop westy.
So many good possibilties, too bad its too far away from me.
Guess I will send them an email about some parts. _________________ '91 Carat Westy

I can understand the pictures. Those are the way it is currently. Besides unless you host pictures somewhere all you can post is a few low res pictures.
It *IS* sad. But, if one wanted, one could save even that one or use it as an organ donor. It would take a lot of patience though to convert a window van using the donor parts. _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

They are doing the right thing by parting it out to try to get part of their investment back. Showing pictures of a rolled over van instead of what they want to sell is odd though. |
