I've always known the saying to be something along the lines of:
If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
or
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it. _________________ 89 Bluestar-2.5 Subaru Powered-RIP

This is the first time that I have heard of a Turbo Syncro. I wish Rocky Mountain would sell this as a kit.

We can sell you this. We have the Exhaust header, Heat shield, intake and lots of the other parts blue printed.

If we could all just agree on the one 'right' way to do everything, then we could have one build thread and be done with it. Then we could get some work done, instead of having to come here all the time.

PS - I'm very curious what they did for springs/shocks. That thing must weigh 5200lbs now and have a VERY high center of gravity.

My WAG would be easily $75k worth of work and a price out the door of $110k for the keys.
Agree with my hairy friend that it is too easy to criticize so I'll start with the stuff I love. The toolbox. The poptop mods. The sunroof. The shortened windows at the rear which I assume was to put the reinforcement in and increase occupant security. And I'm sure they did something excellent with the drivetrain.
Stuff I didn't like. The exo reinforcement they show in pictures 297 seems a poor match of thick tubing directly to sheetmetal. I'd expect that to crack from fatigue. The way the stripes stop at the front is stylistically awkward - should have mimicked the vehicle front lines, not the A pillar line. And most of what I didn't like was the use of steel for the exo - wow! Thats gotta be 400lbs of exo/rack that could have been 150lbs. On the other hand - I have no idea what the intended purpose of that rack is and it may be necessary to use steel.
Either way, that was a serious effort and looked to have some fabulous detailing. Amazing to look at and I'm thankful they posted it for all to see/criticize (heh).

That was at Rocky Mountain Westy last year. Not sure if Mike was just doing the Suby conversion or some of the other work. _________________ Tom, Juanita, Iggy & Abbey the Dirty Desert Dogs

it appears to be steel tubing on the exoskeleton. While there is much to admire about the construction and the ingenuity, to my eyes the framework looks awkward and a bit too far from the body at the front.
I also wonder about the winch placement, long overhang at front, and the hitch at the rear. It might be just a trick of the camera, but the hitch looks a bit vulnerable to knocks when negotiating ditches.
It is so easy to criticize work completed. And so hard to envision the outcome when starting from scratch.

It looks like the same person had them build a 2wd single cab of sorts:
