seeking advice in regards to trade

Howdy all,

My names Jared and I usual lurk the Split bus forum but I've always had a soft spot for Vanagons. I have a 64 kombi non walk thru that I pulled off a mountain and have replaced all the brake components and am having a 1600sp built from a reputable mechanic in my area. It's also going to be converted to 12v upon the engine installation. I've not had this bus on the road yet, but I'll be moving out of my parents house in a couple of months and have been planning for my future. The engine should be together in the next week or two if all goes as planned and the bus will be on the road shortly after that. It's got typical rust in the front floors, minor rust in the doglegs, small spots in the cargo floor and a hole on the rear deck where a cabinet used to reside. All very minor and tolerable as is, with the exception of the front floors. No interior except for front seat. Its sitting on fresh General Grabber AT2's in 27x8.5x14 on original 14's. It's been repainted, but was originally white to begin with. I've already got glass cut for the jalousie window btw, so no more garbage bag haha. Anyway I'm thinking I would like to put it up for trade along with my 2000 Subaru Outback in order to get a Westfalia or Syncro, preferably with a Subaru heart. The Subaru is a 5-speed and has 168,xxx I believe with all proper maintenance done. I'll be moving 6 hours from home and having the two auto's doesn't exactly work out in my situation. Both autos have clean titles.

Here's the bus, and a horrible picture at that. It's at my mechanics now so I can't snap any better, but I will soon.

And the Subaru

I'm not extremely familiar with pricing on Vanagons but I'd like to think I could get a decent van in trade for my two mobiles. What do you all think? I'm located in California by the way.

I guess you have checked the Vanagon classifieds and you must have an idea what your combo is worth. It would be your guess after that. If you were closer to North of 49 I'd be interested!

I've got a ballpark of what the two should go for together, but that's a $ figure, not what someone is willing to trade.
