Dove Blue on a Westy is oh so sweet.

Nothing motivates quite like a freshly painted bus in the garage!
Feel free to hit me up if you have any assembly questions. ~I have the complete dimensions for that rear facing seat, I was all set to build one before mine found me. _________________ "If you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do." -Warren Miller |

I may just have to get those dimensions from you. I might have a line on an ice box, but the rear facing seat is pretty elusive. _________________ '73 Westy

Here's the thread: BTW the dove blue looks fantastic.

Thanks for the link:
I have a 68 bay closet that isn't in great shape, but would serve a good purpose being used to create the rear facing seat. I was intending to do a full width bed in the 68 anyway.
Oh well, I'm not quite to that point yet, so I'll keep my eyes open. I'd probably be willing to pay a small finders fee for someone that could get me some info on a nice rear facing seat. _________________ '73 Westy

A little advice...when my bus sat like that...I couldn't wait to have it DONE!! Looking back, the build is what I miss now. Enjoy it man. Take your time and do it right. If you don't have (or know) whats right ... walk away until you do, in the end, you'll be glad you did. And when it's done, you'll love the bus, and miss the build!

| Wow! Your bus is gorgeous. I think your paint work is far superior to mine. Great project. Your bus came along way. Thanks for the kind words about my 67 kombi. Can't wait to see yours done. |

I obviously haven't really updated this in a while. The bus has made it home and is currently in the garage waiting to be put back together. I'm just trying to move forward as much as my time and wallet allow.
The front beam and flipped spindles have all been installed. I almost have all the parts I need to complete the 944 disc brake swap up front (just waiting on new rotors and pads), but I'll be rebuilding and painting calipers before installing. I also have the 944 master cylinder and adapter ready to install.
I'll also be ordering my wiring harness soon, so that will be next month's project. Then on to the back to finish up the strait axle swap. I picked up a 67 Swing axle, which has long axle, but short splines. I haven't figured out for sure if I'll have to swap to a long/long spline axle yet, as it will be getting 944 discs in the back also.
I hope to have her back down on all 4's sitting on new tires and Cosmics by the end of the year. _________________ '73 Westy

No recent pics. Basically have just thrown the beam on in order to transport it home. I have everything I need to do a 944 disc brake swap on the front. I just need to paint the calipers, but I'm waiting on rear calipers to arrive so I can paint them all at the same time. I should have some updates real soon. _________________ '73 Westy
