The lighter requires quite a bit bigger hole which negates ever putting an ignition switch back in there if the Euro switch ever craps out. Lighters were usually on the right of the ashtray on 67 down cars. Sure it is possible to do though. I simply installed a 6v wiper switch w/a headlight knob and used it to power up a vintage rear fog light & left the hole the stock small size _________________ Midwest Autosavers, Inc. Lighters for all beetles until about the 78 converts were a dealer installed accessory. They are available with stock knobb & etc. I have seen them installed between the headlight & wiper switch but most were to the right of the ashtray. If you dont have a need for an accessory switch and just want to fill the hole, go to hardware store and get a small chrome washer used for trim screws and a washer for the back side along with a small screw to fit a headlight knob and just screw a knob over the hole.
I can supply you with an awesome old accessory rear fog or reverse light that fits under your license plate light if you want to have something to run a switch to !
