Finally back to my project after about 7 months of re building my shop. Cleaned up the tranny and spotted this. Looks like an issue to me but just want the groups two bits.

If your car is 12V, and if you are not 100% sure of your starter, replace it with one from an automatic; they are self-supporting and do not require a bushing. stronger motor, too. |

What if his VW is 12 volt, but uses the 6 volt starter with 109 toothed flywheel gear?? Installing a 12 volt starter that requires a 130 toothed flywheel, will result in chewed up 109 toothed flywheel gear. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Looks like the case was clearance at one time for a 12v flywheel/starter. And gree he should confirm what he has before buying parts. _________________ Kafer_Mike
